Lytera severs relations with the United Kingdom.

Just weeks before the United Kingdom is scheduled to crash out with a no-deal Brexit, the Monarch has issued a surprise Royal Decree declaring that Lytera will continue to be associated with the EU and respect it’s laws, whilst severing relations with the UK. The decree cites the fact that the majority of Lyteran citizens identify as being European, as well as the fact that Lytera became an independent sovereign state before the 2016 referendum, arguing that Lytera should not be forced to listen to a corrupt, racist government.

The British government has been in decline since 2010, when David Cameron was elected, but worsened under Theresa May with her Windrush scandal and more so under Boris Johnson. Due to the fact children are forced to be fed by UNICEF and that the government seems more concerned with painting planes then feeding children, the decision was made in a passionate, anger filled speech from the King to members of the Royal Family and to the Principality of Pelkesa (Whom this act also applies to) after Johnson announced the Tier 4 lockdowns in the Southeast of Britain days after threatening to sue schools who, at breaking point, planned to shut early.

The Lyteran government has been ordered to place the European flag alongside the Lyteran flag on border signs, and it will likely continue trying to implement European law as much as possible, though any changes in UK law could affect this. In addition, Lytera has expressed its sympathies to pro-independence parties such as the SNP, Plaid Cymru and Sinn Féin, and has stated that if any referendums for Irish reunification or Welsh/Scottish independence are a majority yes, that they will immediately recognise it.

The move comes as little shock to the nation who have always opposed the Brexit vote, and considered, like the Empire of Adammia, to reject the withdrawal act back in January, but decided against it. It seems, with all the failings and no accountability held by the opposition or media, that the government has finally decided to turn on their macronational neighbour. As such, Lytera has rejected Brexit and has affirmed it’s support for the EU.

The move seems to show a clear change in the King’s own beliefs, and can be seen as an attack on not only the Conservatives, but also Labour, whom the government consider to be a yes-man for the Conservatives. Lytera has opposed British policies before, such as intervention and bombing the Middle East. As the Monarch said earlier today:

I see it on the news: people killed by the very nation I used to support who claims to defend and protect. And I saw that I had become part of a system that is comfortable with zero-accountability. A Nation that has turned from culling off innocent people stuck in warzones to culling off it’s own poor people. It’s wrong, and I won’t stand for it any longer. I should have said this years ago. And that is why, effective immediately, I am withdrawing recognition of the UK and it’s overseas territories.
